Amplifying Voices: A Series of Digital Stories

Digital Storytelling workshops bring together participants from all over Southern Africa to focus on the experiences of those society often ignores. HIV-positive, disabled, gay, widowed, ostracized by the communities in which they live, these remarkable women and men defy stigma by refusing to be silent. Workshop-produced video stories—14 of which are available below—provide advocacy tools for people vulnerable to and marginalized by HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa.

Sponsored by the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa and the OSI Health Media Program in partnership with Women's Net and the Center for Digital Storytelling, the workshop is a hands-on and computer-intensive process that teaches new skills while amplifying participants' voices.
