Arjun Appadurai
Arjun Appadurai serves as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at New School University in New York City, where he also holds a Distinguished Professorship as the John Dewey Professor in the Social Sciences. Until recently, he was the William K. Lanman Jr. Professor of International Studies, a Professor of Anthropology, and Director of the Center on Cities and Globalization at Yale University. Appadurai is a former Individual Project Fellow of the Open Society Institute. |

Leon Botstein
Leon Botstein has been president of Bard College since 1975, where he is also the Leon Levy Professor in the Arts and Humanities. Dr. Botstein is past chairman of the Harper's Magazine Foundation and of the New York Council for the Humanities, a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Yale–New Haven Teachers Institute, and a member of the board of the Central European University and many other boards and professional associations. Dr. Botstein has been music director of the American Symphony Orchestra since 1992. |
