Event Date(s): May 10, 2007
Speaker(s): Martin Tisné

Martin Tisné of Tiri discussed the findings of new research on accountability, corruption, and effectiveness in post-war reconstruction settings at this OSI event. Using case studies from Afghanistan, Timor-Leste, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kosovo, Lebanon, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Mozambique, and Sierra Leone, he explored how integrity (accountability, professionalism, and corruption control) can decrease the risk of conflict and increase the likelihood of sustainable recovery.

Tiri is an international NGO based in London that partners with civil society, governments, and business to create networks of committed change agents dedicated to strategic integrity reform. Martin Tisné directs Tiri’s Network for Integrity in Reconstruction, a network of civil society organizations from eight post-war countries dedicated to research and implementation of integrity reforms.
