The Open Society Institute hosted a forum to mark the publication of Innocents Lost: When Child Soldiers Go to War (Basic Books), by OSI Individual Project Fellow Jimmie Briggs. By painting a vivid picture of the lives of child combatants around the world, Briggs offers a personal and powerful examination of war-affected children.

The panel included the following speakers:

  • Jo Becker, Children's Rights Advocacy Director for Human Rights Watch;
  • Jimmie Briggs, Author and OSI Individual Project Fellow;
  • Oscar Torres, Writer and Co-producer of the film Innocent Voices.
