The Foundation Open Society Institute–Macedonia works to foster a society that is more tolerant, democratic, integrated with Europe, and composed of informed and educated citizens.

The Foundation Open Society Institute–Representative Office Montenegro works to promote the country’s integration with the European Union; advance education; strengthen the rule of law, particularly around human rights, anticorruption, and election issues; and build the capacity of organizations working with groups that face discrimination, such as women and Roma.

The Fund for an Open Society–Serbia seeks to advance European integration, the rule of law, good governance, education reform, as well as transitional justice, social inclusion, and human rights.

The Kosovo Foundation for Open Society works to strengthen government institutions and to further develop an open society within Kosovo. Its programs focus on the rights of minorities, civic participation, European integration, governance, and education.

The Open Society Fund–Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSF-BH) is committed to the development of an economically and socially sustainable country marked by tolerance; good governance; and an open, democratic civil society. The fund’s programs focus on government accountability, education, women, Roma, and youth empowerment.

The main objective of the Open Society Fund–Lithuania was to support the development of an open, democratic, and civil society in Lithuania.

Open Society Fund–Prague seeks to promote humanistic values, education, and culture in the Czech Republic. Its most recent work has focused on the issues of anticorruption, antidiscrimination, migration, and gender equality.

The Open Society Georgia Foundation is committed to programs that respond to political and economic change, and contribute to the long-term development of open society in Georgia.

The Open Society Institute–Sofia seeks to promote open society in Bulgaria by advancing government accountability, legal reform, civic participation, social equality, education, and European integration.

The Soros Foundation Romania supports activities that foster a society characterized by tolerance, social equality, democratic participation, and a strong nongovernmental sector. Its programs focus on economic development, fair resource management, regional cooperation, access to information, and good governance.

The Soros Foundation–Hungary has focused on the following priority areas in its work in Hungary: education, culture and arts, health preservation, law and justice, information, and creating sustainable nongovernmental organizations.

The priorities of the Soros Foundation–Latvia include strengthening democratic institutions, advocating for the rights of minorities and other vulnerable populations, and increasing social inclusion and civic participation.

The mission of the Soros Foundation–Moldova is to advance open society values by providing support for Moldova’s democratic institutions, fostering public debate and access to information, improving education, and advocating for policy alternatives.

The Stefan Batory Foundation’s work focuses on enhancing the role of civil society in public life, promoting the rule of law and state transparency, and fostering international cooperation, particularly with states outside the European community.
