A grants program to support publication of research by authors from developing and transition countries.
The Information Program of the Open Society Institute is pleased to announce a grants program inspired by the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative. This program builds upon the successful pilot project in 2002 which provided grants to 34 open access journals.
In 2004, 23 grants were awarded out 67 proposals which were received. While $50,000 had originally been allocated for this program, given the outstanding proposals which were received, OSI awarded a total of $62,123 in funding.
