Soros Discusses "War on Terror" at Council on Foundations Conference

OSI chairman George Soros was a featured speaker at the 2006 Annual Conference of the Council on Foundations, "Philanthropy: Investing in the Vision of Progress," which took place in Pittsburgh, May 7–9. The meeting gathers philanthropy practitioners from around the world to discuss changes and challenges to philanthropy in the 21st century.

In a talk entitled "Making a World of Difference through Philanthropy," Soros discussed the role of grantmaking in the context of the post-9/11 era and the "war on terror."
