Central, Eastern, and South Eastern Europe, and the Former Soviet Union

International Gender Policy Network

The International Gender Policy Network, established in November 2005, is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that promotes women’s rights, gender equity, and gender-sensitive public policy at all levels of society. The network advocates for the inclusion of women's human rights into the national, regional, and global policy agenda and for full implementation of the rights of women.

The International Gender Policy Network continues to catalyze and foster a shared vision for a network of independent women’s rights partners, many formerly women’s programs in the Soros foundations. In this respect, the network seeks to strengthen common strategies, promote policy impact, and ensure the sustainability of women's movements in Central, Eastern, and South Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union. To continue the Women ’s Program legacy and build on the network’s experience in developing and implementing effective regional projects and policy campaigns, the International Gender Policy Network will coordinate network-wide activities in response to new global challenges to the advancement of women’s rights.
