
Conflict between Somali Islamists and interim government forces has escalated in recent days. The PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer interviewed Akwe Amosu, senior policy analyst for Africa at OSI-Washington, D.C., and Abdi Samatar, professor of geography at the University of Minnesota, about the reasons for the violence and the possibility of it enveloping the Horn of Africa region.
