Cooperative Global Engagement Project

The Cooperative Global Engagement Project seeks to foster a coalition movement to encourage the U.S. government to work in a more collaborative and cooperative fashion with the international community on issues of common concern. The goal is to prompt U.S. policymakers to make foreign policy decisions within the context of a global community and to encourage U.S. citizens to view the government's foreign policy as interconnected with the interests of other countries. The campaign focuses on strengthening and uniting advocates who work on different issues—including health promotion, arms control, women's/human rights, and the environment—to build a sustainable, long-term movement for responsible U.S. foreign policy.

The project works with five target audiences: 1) policymakers; 2) journalists; 3) advocacy organizations already engaged with multilateral approaches to various global issues; 4) the American public, specifically focusing on students; and 5) the philanthropic community, which is poised to do more collaborative work in the area of engaging Americans around critical foreign policy questions.
