D.C. Community Grants Initiative

Our Place provides social, medical and legal services to more than 3,000 formerly incarcerated women.  Our Place in the only gender-specific nonprofit organization in Washington, DC that assists women in obtaining transitional and emergency housing, clothing, transportation, legal documentation and services, counseling, employment, and education.  

In guiding clients through the process of obtaining services and meeting their basic needs, Our Place helps incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women successfully reintegrate into the community, reconcile with their families, maintain physical and emotional health, and become productive community members.

In 2006, the DC Community Grants Initiative awarded Our Place with a general support grant.
