Produced by the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, this report documents and analyzes significant human rights developments in the Arab region during 2008, with a particular focus on several key countries. The report largely focuses on significant legislative developments and practices relating to political participation, freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of religion and belief, and peaceful assembly and association.

From Exporting Terrorism to Exporting Repression: Human Rights in the Arab Region reviews the main human rights developments in 12 Arab countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen.
