Roslyn Satchel will work towards curbing the excessive and inappropriate use of juvenile detention for young women and to minimize its harmful effects. The project will improve the legal representation, sentencing and treatment of girls in the juvenile justice system by increasing alternatives to detention for girls, improving access to lawyers to represent girls in juvenile court, and building a public education campaign to address the needs of incarcerated girls.
