Soros Justice Fellowships
The Soros Justice Fellowships support outstanding individuals including lawyers, advocates, grassroots organizers, activist academics, journalists, and filmmakers to implement innovative projects that address one or more of the Open Society Foundations' criminal justice reform priorities.

Past Programs

Sentencing & Incarceration Alternatives (2000-2008)
The Sentencing & Incarceration Alternatives Project sought to reduce the scale of incarceration in the United States.

The After Prison Initiative (2000-2008)
The After Prison Initiative sought to decrease U.S. overreliance on mass incarceration and harsh punishment by advancing policies and practices that support the successful reentry of people after prison.

Gideon Project (2000-2008)
The Gideon Project funded initiatives to protect the rights of individuals at all levels of the criminal justice systems.
