Invisible Punishments Becoming Clear

On February 13, The Washington Post ran a piece by Soros Justice Fellow Emily Bazelon on reentry and the numerous barriers formerly incarcerated people meet when returning to society—obstacles to marriage, housing, employment, and education—all potential sources of stability. In her piece, she quotes another U.S. Justice Fund grantee, Jeremy Travis of the Urban Institute, who coined the term "invisible punishment".
