Call for Proposals: Think Tank Fund Fellowships

Date:
March 9, 2010

The Think Tank Fund of the Open Society Foundations invites talented and dedicated young researchers to apply for a fellowship that would allow them to spend up to three months in one of the leading think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe.

Applicants must be residents of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine.

For policy researchers from Western Balkans, Think Tank Fund runs this support in joint cooperation with the European Fund for the Balkans, which administers the program. Those applications should be submitted directly to the European Fund for the Balkans

In accordance with the Think Tank Fund's overall mission, this fellowship program has the following goals:

  • to equip junior researchers with tools necessary to effectively influence policy-making processes and develop innovative and quality policy products;
  • to contribute to institutional development of think tanks by broadening their professional networks, improving the junior employee skills and increasing their motivation for better participation and generation of new ideas;
  • to enrich portfolios and networks of think tanks by bringing in researchers with different background.

At a hosting organization, fellows are expected to engage in ongoing policy research projects and develop a concrete policy product. Throughout the program, fellows' work is to be guided by senior policy analysts.

Fellowship proposals are accepted throughout the year and are considered on a rolling basis. For more information, see the Think Tank Fund Fellowships guidelines.
