Policy Association for Open Society
2007 Strengthening the Impact of Visegrad Countries' Democratic Assistance Programs Through a Critical Evaluation of Existing Policies and Priorities PASOS, within this project conducts a democracy assistance evaluation project in Ukraine, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cuba with a view to make a series of recommendations to the foreign ministries and civil society organizations in the Visegrad Four countries to improve the impact of policies in the area of democratic assistance and supporting democratic movements. The project includes a series of case studies and roundtable meetings in the target countries. Policy Association for an Open Society (PASOS), a network of independent think-tanks in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, supports policy centers in promoting open society values, including democracy, good governance, the rule of law and human rights. The Prague-based Secretariat organizes seminars, conferences, and project development meetings, co-ordinates training in public policy, and is developing standards for public policy research and think-tank governance. PASOS conducts joint cross-border projects and joint advocacy to strengthen the voice of think-tanks from the new EU members and their eastern neighbors at the EU level, in other European structures, and in the wider neighborhood of Europe and Central Asia. | 2 Years | http://www.pasos.org |
