Support for Value-Based Foreign Policy
2007-2009

The proposal offers a wide-ranging list of activities that challenge the current Slovak foreign policy and push for the re-introduction of democracy, civil liberties and human rights as its guiding values. The project, to a large extent, focuses on monitoring foreign policy activities and advocating for value-based changes. Raising public awareness and a comparative study of foreign policies of other countries complement the monitoring activities. Involving different target groups and promoting more participatory policy making are clear strengths of the proposed intervention.

The purpose of existence of the M. R. Štefánik Conservative Institute is articulation, spreading and defending of conservative attitudes and values in Slovak society and especially in public life. The main goal of the Institute is, to a maximum extent, to help create a social atmosphere that will allow the perception and wide acceptance of conservative attitudes.

Conservative Institute organizes lectures, conferences, undertakes research, drafts policy papers and publishes reports and books focused on various areas of public life – politics, international relations, European affairs, economy, regional development, public administration, welfare system reform, educational system reform, agriculture and environment.
