How Integrated is Latvia – Tolerance and Cohesion Audit
2006-2008

ASPRI has committed to a 3-year long monitoring of the implementation of the new State Strategy for National Integration. It will also conduct a comprehensive audit of the situation of ethic minorities adjusting the IDEA methodology for Democracy Audit.

Advanced Social and Political Research Institute (ASPRI) was established in 2004 at the University of Latvia to facilitate high-quality interdisciplinary research on social development and foreign policy issues and to promote networking among Latvia's social scientists.

Key research areas are minorities and democracy, human development, and Russian/regional studies. ASPRI regularly provides public commentary on topical social/political issues. Major recent projects include: "How Integrated is Latvia? Tolerance and Social Cohesion Audit", Latvia Human Development Report 2006/2007: Human Capital, and "Latvia's Image in Russia's Media". ASPRI partners with the Latvian Centre for Human Rights to carry out data collection and analysis on racism, xenophobia and discrimination in Latvia.
