The Ukrainian Center for Independent Political Research (UCIPR) is a non-partisan and non-profit institution promoting democratic values and procedures in public policy and government. Since Ukraine's independence in 1991, the UCIPR has become one of the leading research centers in the country. The Center's name has been a synonym for the quality and originality of studies, compliance with interests of social groups, competence and politically unbiased actions and conclusions. The UCIPR's history and content of its studies mirror all the complex and controversial processes of democracy strengthening in Ukraine, involvement of citizens in decision-making through representation and public participation, development and promotion of a non-governmental analytical sector of public policy.
