Center for Economic Development (CED) goals are to contribute to Bulgaria's economic development and sustainable growth, promote public debate on major economic policy issues and foster cooperation between the public, private, NGO sector, and educational institutions in resolving economic problems, and improve economic culture and the quality of economics education in Bulgaria.

CED tries to achieve its goals through work in the following priority fields:

  • Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy and Economic Growth.
  • Enterprise Policy. Business Environment. SMEs.
  • Innovation and ICT policies.
  • Infrastructure: Energy and Transport.
  • Labour and Social Policy. Health policy.
  • Public Finance. Taxation and Fiscal Policy.
  • Financial Sector: Banking, Insurance, Capital Market.
  • Economics by Industry: Industry, Agriculture, Construction, Tourism.
  • Economic Development of the Bulgarian Regions.
  • EU Accession and Foreign Economic Relations.
  • Environmental Policy.
  • Economic Information and Statistics.
  • Business Ethics.

CED accomplishes its objectives through diverse tools: economic research, analysis and elaboration of economic legislation; advocacy for proper implementation of policies, exchange of information among experts; public awareness through the dissemination of findings, Internet applications on the Bulgarian economy, etc.
