Eszter Filippinyi

Program Officer, Right to Information Fund
Special Initiatives

Eszter Filippinyi is the program officer for Right to Information Fund (Special Initiatives) at the Open Society Institute, based in Budapest. She works on a global grantmaking and advocacy program focused on advancing the right to information, including implementation efforts of existing laws and adoption of new laws worldwide. She also assists with the Journalism Fund.

Filippinyi has been with OSI since 1998. Before joining the Right to Information Fund, she was program officer for Freedom of Information and Expression at the Open Society Justice Initiative, with responsibility for developing and implementing Freedom of Information adoption and implementation projects worldwide (including monitoring, trainings, technical assistance, and legal clinics).

Filippinyi graduated from the University ELTE (Faculty of Arts / Spanish and French literature and linguistics) in 1996 and from the Budapest Business School (economy/marketing) in the same year.
