Academic Freedom
OSI's Strategic Opportunity Fund is offering preliminary funding in the area of academic freedom, while continuing to explore and discuss a more comprehensive strategy.

Katrina Media Fellowships
OSI provided fellowships in response to critical issues laid bare by Hurricane Katrina.

Media Policy
OSI Media Policy grants aim to ensure that the public interest is vigorously represented in policy arenas that determine the structure of the U.S. media system.

Politicization of Science
OSI offers grants designed to train and encourage scientists to speak up, as well as to expose political, religious and corporate interference in policymaking.

Rapid Response
Rapid Response grants will focus on policy-driven efforts on the state and national level that are connected to, and cut across, OSI issue areas and/or, are timely issues that require intentional measures to reclaim the public debate.

Technical Assistance
OSI provides support to grantee organizations within areas such as communications, board development, strategic planning, fundraising, leadership training, and technology.
