Palestinian Faculty Development Program

Selected Grantees

The Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) seeks to increase capacity within the higher education sector in the West Bank/Gaza by supporting PhD and short-term visit fellowships for faculty members from Palestinian universities at U.S. host institutions.

The program is designed to promote the professional development and retention of promising Palestinian academics in five targeted disciplines (education; political science/international relations; social work; public policy/public administration; urban planning); to reform the teaching of these disciplines at Palestinian higher education institutions; and to promote an institutional culture of teaching and learning. PFDP is funded by the Open Society Institute, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and participating host universities. It is administered by OSI and AMIDEAST.
