Georgia Program for Education Professionals

Application Guidelines

The Georgia Scholarship Program for Education Professionals offers fellowships for graduate study in the United States leading to a master’s degree in education.

Funded by the Open Society Institute, the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), and two U.S. universities, and administered in Georgia by the Center for International Education, the program supports Georgians who demonstrate both academic excellence and the potential to become leaders in the field of education.

Six awards support study at Harvard University and Teachers College-Columbia University. Specializations of priority include Education Policy & Law,  Education Management, Education Administration, and International Education.

Upon completing degrees in the United States, the grantees must return to Georgia for three-year internships with MoES. The program seeks to build local capacity in the profession and to support ongoing educational reform in Georgia.
