OSI Pre-Academic Summer School

Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Event Date: July 2, 2009 - August 26, 2009

The Open Society Institute Scholarship Programs’ Pre-Academic Summer Program is designed to equip participants with the tools they will require to succeed during their academic programs in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France and the Netherlands.

Participants are provided with the opportunity to refine their research and writing skills through intensive academic writing and social science courses. In some cases, participants complete coursework assignments designed to prepare them specifically for their area of study.

Moreover, the program is an opportunity for fellows to become familiar with the structure and teaching methodology in classrooms on campuses in their host countries and to network with colleagues across regions as well as in their professional fields.

Venue

Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey

Dates:

  • July 2–29, 2009, for those programs attending the first school
  • July 30–August 26, 2009 for those programs attending the second school
