Muslims for Human Rights
2009

Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) will continue its paralegal project which operates in 16 penal institutions in coastal Kenya, providing legal education, assistance, and counseling to those in detention.  MUHURI will also pilot the use of paralegals in police stations and courts in four districts to determine if early contact with paralegals will ensure greater access to justice for defendants and an overall reduction in the use of pre-trial detention in the region.
