2009 Based on its success litigating on behalf of juveniles, Conectas will develop a strategic judicial intervention to tackle the inhumane conditions in jails and to curb abusive practices in pretrial detention facilities for adults in the state of São Paulo. The legal strategy will be developed following a diagnostic study of the prison system and the Judiciary's record of deciding cases on human rights issues.
