New Multimedia Series Features OSI Photography Grantees
AlterNet.org has launched a new multimedia series featuring images from the best documentary photographers working today. The series, edited and produced by Nina Berman, an OSI Moving Walls photographer and Distribution Grant recipient, features the work of several other OSI grantees.
The multimedia series provides an eyewitness look at issues such as democracy, civil rights, war and peace, the economy, and the environment. The feature launches with photos from Andrew Lichtenstein's "Never Coming Home," images of U.S. deaths in Iraq. Lichtenstein, a New York–based documentary photographer, was featured in OSI's Moving Walls 8.
Lichtenstein will be followed by a number of world-class photographers including Time magazine's Christopher Morris, presenting pictures from "My America," inside the Bush bubble; Robert Capa Award–winner Paolo Pellegrin from "Double Blind,” the war in Lebanon; and National Geographic photographer Lynn Johnson, who documents hate crimes across the U.S. Johnson was a 2005 recipient of the OSI Documentary Photography Project Distribution Grant.
Each piece will be accompanied by an interview with the photographer or co-author of the work.
