Aleksandr Glyadyelov Biography

Glyadyelov has worked as an independent photojournalist since 1989, photographing the former Soviet Union and covering the conflicts in Moldova and Chechnya. Since 1996, he has concentrated on socially abused children and the HIV/AIDS epidemic among drug users in Ukraine. His work, which he labels “humanitarian photojournalism,” has received widespread recognition and been used by international nongovernmental organizations.
