Breaking the Silence
2007

Breaking the Silence toured “Israeli Soldiers Talk About the Occupied Territories,” an exhibition of photographs taken by Israeli soldiers while participating in the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip during 2001-2004. The photos were exhibited in Philadelphia and Boston and combined with video testimonies in order to shed light on the soldiers' experiences and the questionable treatment of Palestinian civilians. Former soldiers accompanied the exhibition, which included satellite events, a website, and interactive blog. Breaking the Silence is working with the New Israel Fund, Meretz USA, Americans for Peace Now, and other organizations on the exhibition.
