Laurie McGinley
2005

Laurie McGinley will work with El Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen in El Salvador to conserve and create a database of the museum’s collection of 38,000 photographs documenting the Salvadoran civil war. The collection will be presented to the communities that were affected by the violence of the civil war to encourage the healing process.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota, McGinley spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador where she taught local students to use the Internet. While in El Salvador, she served as the project manager for www.elsalvador.com, the online version of the largest newspaper in the country.
