Community Support for Grief & Bereavement

Grantee List

Grantees
Service Employees International Union, Local 434B

There are more than 74,000 ethnically diverse members of the union of homecare workers of Los Angeles County who are represented by Local 434B of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). These workers assist tens of thousands of low-income elderly, disabled, and terminally ill persons who are able to live out their lives in their own homes thanks to this assistance. This project will help homecare workers address the grief and bereavement difficulties they regularly experience in their work and improve the quality of care provided to their dying clients.

Tyrone Freeman, project coordinator
