Open Letter to UN: Urgent Need for an Effective Resolution on Darfur
March 18, 2005

On Friday, March 18, 2005, the Open Society Justice Initiative and seven other human rights organizations sent an open letter to the UN Secretary-General and the members of the UN Security Council, urging a more robust resolution on Darfur than the draft of March 10 then under review. They also put forward a draft resolution for the Security Council’s consideration, strengthened with a view to ending the cycle of violence and impunity in Darfur.

The open letter and draft resolution may be downloaded below. You may also view the full text of each on the Justice Initiative website.
