Soros Foundations

MENA works closely with the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation–Turkey, a liaison office that identifies actors and activities that will help Turkey's evolution toward an open society, facilitates collaboration between Turkish civil society and the Soros foundations network, and makes funding recommendations.

Women

Guidelines

The OSI Middle East & North Africa Initiative (MENA) has supported the advancement of women’s human rights, gender equality, and empowerment in countries ranging from Morocco to Egypt to the Palestinian Territories. It collaborates with the OSI International Women’s Program to develop its programming in this area.

Among MENA priorities are promoting women’s participation in public life, dealing with personal status questions, fostering gender-sensitive education, combating violence against women, supporting the rights of young women, and addressing mass media and gender.
