Lori Grinker

Lori Grinker is an award-winning photographer and faculty member of the International Center for Photography in New York. Her new exhibition, Life Interrupted: The Iraqi Refugee Crisis, tells the stories of Iraqi refugees in Amman, Jordan.

Omer Salih Mahdi

Omer Salih Mahdi is an Iraqi doctor, journalist, and documentary film director whose Emmy Award–winning Baghdad Hospital: Inside the Red Zone premieres January 29, 2008, on HBO. He is a Fulbright Scholar at the Ball State University’s Department of Journalism.

George Packer

George Packer is a staff writer for The New Yorker and author of five books including The Assassins’ Gate: America in Iraq. His first play, Betrayed: The Iraqis Who Loved America Too Much, opens in New York in February 2008.

Kristele Younes

Kristele Younes has been monitoring the Iraqi refugee crisis since 2006 as an advocate with Refugees International. She has conducted an assessment of the plight of refugees in Chad and recently returned from a fact-finding trip to Iraq, Jordan, and Syria.
