Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships is an on-the-job training program for print journalists from developing and transitional countries with an emerging free press. By placing these journalists at American newspapers and magazines, AFPF offers them a six-month, in-depth, practical introduction to the professional and ethical standards of the U.S. print media.

DW-Akademie offers a journalistic training program specifically designed for young journalists from regions where Deutsche Welle broadcasts.

Internews offers training programs featuring extensive hands-on learning. Training takes several forms: traditional seminars; internships; on-site residencies at TV or radio stations by international and Internews-trained local professionals; and journalism schools in Russia, Ukraine, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Indonesia.
Investigative Reporters and Editors
IRE provides educational services to reporters, editors, and others interested in investigative journalism and works to maintain high professional standards. It runs national conferences, regional workshops, weeklong boot camps and on-site newsroom training.
Media Development Loan Fund
MDLF’s Media Training Center offers highly specialized training courses targeting management issues faced by print and broadcast media, based on needs assessments and client feedback.
Media Diversity Institute
The institute's training activities include diversity awareness training for journalists and media decision-makers; diversity curriculum development, in cooperation with journalism faculties; media and public relations training for minority groups; production of diversity handbooks, resource manuals and training manuals; and post-conflict professional development for journalists.
