Dr. David Buchanan, a current Soros Advocacy Fellow, was interviewed for Hope Dies Last Keeping the Faith in Difficult Times by Studs Terkel. Dr. Buchanan discusses his medical education and the difficulty of barriers retaining the ideals and values that originally drew him into the profession.  In addition, Dr. Buchanan describes his longstanding commitment to serving the homeless and his work to eliminate homelessness in Chicago by 2010.
