Merit Ulvik

Associate Legal Officer

Merit Ulvik is the associate legal officer on freedom of information and expression. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Tartu, and an LLM in human rights from Central European University.     
    
Ulvik interned with the Open Society Justice Initiative in 2008-2009, working on legal capacity development and freedom of information projects. Previously, Ulvik worked as a consultant and a project assistant for European Youth Centre Budapest for the Council on Europe, where she assisted in the execution of the Youth Centre’s human rights programs for the young; participated in the development team on a human rights education manual for children; helped in the editing and the compilation of a training manual on gender-based violence. In 2002, Ulvik assisted in compiling an application to the European Court of Human Rights.
