ICT Toolsets
The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Toolsets initiative is designed to foster the development, distribution, and scaling of mission-based technology to support civil society.

eIFL
Electronic Information for Libraries (eIFL) aims to facilitate affordable access to electronic scholarly resources by libraries in countries in transition.

Open Access Project
The Open Access Project builds upon the principles outlined in the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and aims to assist the international effort to make research articles in all academic fields freely available online.

Open Source
The use of Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) by the NGO, educational and governmental sector is increasing year on year. It is starting to be viewed as a more viable solution for many developing countries due to its flexibility and cost implications, as a consequence it’s implementation is most progressive outside of North America.

Internet & Information Policy
The Internet and Information Policy Program seeks to address a number of relevant issues in the sector, even while they continue to evolve. The program’s current focus includes sponsoring initiatives that monitor Internet censorship, surveillance, and filtering.

Translation & Publishing Projects
The Next Page Foundation works closely with the Soros Foundations in continuing translations support through the Network Translation Project and East Translates East Project.

Intellectual Property and Knowledge Governance
The Project on Intellectual Property Rights and Knowledge Governance aims to assist disadvantaged countries to shape IPR regimes to their needs and interests, with an emphasis on copyright issues as they relate to access to information and knowledge and free expression.

Technology Support for Civil Society
The Information Program helps design information technology systems, custom-designed to fit the needs of individual firms, for nonprofits that do not have the resources to develop and build such systems, especially in postcommunist and developing countries.
