Call for Participants: New Media Skills for NGOs
March 31, 2008

Transitions Online and the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS announce a call for applications for a 12-month initiative that seeks to provide NGOs with Internet tools and strategies to help them promote transparency and good governance in their respective countries. The program is open to NGOs in the new member states of the European Union.

Applications will be accepted from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Bulgaria. You must be engaged (as an employee, consultant, or volunteer) in a non-profit organization working in the areas of anti-corruption and good governance, or for other monitoring organizations (human rights, environmental degradation, etc.) that would benefit from the techniques promoted by this project.

The project kicks off with a workshop in Prague, from May 8-11, that is focused on the latest methods for encouraging members and the broader public to engage in data collection and analysis--and to explore new ways to use and present this data to have a greater impact on public policy.
