Access to Knowledge
The Information Program supports four initiatives which enable access to knowledge in poorer countries: a project on the reform of intellectual property; the eIFL library consortium; the Open Access Initiative, and an East-East translation program.

Civil Society Communication
Civil Society Communication includes two initiatives: the first aims to enhance the information and communications capacity of key organizations and networks, the second to provide software tools to meet the special needs of these groups.

Open Information Policy
The Open Information Policy initiative aims to broaden communications access in the most disadvantaged countries and to protect the freedom to communicate in the digital environment.
