As part of ongoing advocacy efforts, the At Home in Europe Project of the Open Society Foundations is organizing a training on policy-oriented advocacy for civil society organizations working in select cities in Western Europe who are engaged in innovative practices seeking to influence decisions of policymakers.

The training will support organizations at the grassroots level that are working to improve the treatment and participation of minorities and marginalized groups by strengthening their capacity to effectively understand how they can better engage with the policymaking process and tools.

A key part of the training is to work closely with all participants in developing a policy advocacy project that will be implemented by individual organisations in the next 12 months. Topics may include monitoring and combating discrimination, segregation in the education system, preventing discrimination in the labour market, increased participation of community groups in civic and political life, and the use of arts and culture in promoting integration.

This participatory course is open to a limited number of participants and will be conducted in English.
