Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
A foundation, based in the United States, that makes grants in six core program areas: higher education, museums and art conservation, performing arts, population, conservation and the environment, and public affairs.

A nonprofit that promotes "the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding" by grantmaking in the United States and countries that are or have been members of the British Commonwealth, with a current emphasis on Commonwealth Africa.

Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
A private grantmaking organization that focuses on four core program areas: civil society, the environment, pathways out of poverty, and the Flint, Michigan area of the United States.

Council of Europe
The Council of Europe is an intergovernmental organization that aims to protect human rights, pluralist democracy and the rule of law; to promote awareness and encourage the development of Europe's cultural identity and diversity; to seek solutions to problems facing European society; and to help consolidate democratic stability in Europe by backing political, legislative, and constitutional reform.

Eurasia Foundation
The foundation is a privately managed grantmaking organization dedicated to funding programs that build democratic and free market institutions the twelve countries (all except the Baltic states) of the former Soviet Union.

European Commission
The commission embodies and upholds the general interest of the European Union (EU) and is the driving force in the union's institutional system. FCO is the British government department responsible for foreign affairs through its headquarters in London and embassies, high commissions and consulates throughout the world.

International Finance Corporation
The IFC promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a way to reduce poverty and improve people's lives.

Spencer Foundation
The foundation focuses on investigating ways in which education, broadly conceived, can be improved around the world.

USAID
USAID is an independent U.S. government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. It works to support long-term and equitable economic growth and advancing U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting economic growth; agriculture and trade; global health; and democracy, conflict prevention, and humanitarian assistance.

World Bank
A multigovernmental organization that is one of the world's largest sources of development assistance.

World Bank Initiative
The learning arm of the World Bank, WBI designs and delivers courses and seminars aimed at reducing poverty and promoting economic opportunity and growth. It also trains World Bank staff and clients together, allowing the two groups to exchange information and experience.
