New Program Promotes Health in LGBT Communities

The Public Health Program recently launched the "Promoting Health in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Communities" health initiative in Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, and Serbia and Montenegro. The initiative has the overall goal of supporting the institutional development of NGOs to identify policy responses to achieve LGBT health and undertake related advocacy activities.

A workshop held September 17-18 in Bucharest, Romania pulled together more than fifteen participants from nine potential grantee organizations to strengthen proposal development skills, share information on advocacy and research strategies, and discuss institutional development principles.
