Amplifying Voices: A Series of Digital Stories
Today, almost 60 percent of people living with HIV and AIDS in southern Africa are female. These women and girls must endure double discrimination because of their gender and HIV status. This video, part of the Amplifying Voices project, was created by Elizabeth Musonza, a women's rights and AIDS activist in Zimbabwe. Musonza tells the story of children who have lost their mothers to AIDS, and how girls are left particularly vulnerable to corrupt relatives and neighbors. more |
