The forum reports on substance abuse and addiction research, therapies, news, and events of interest to both healthcare professionals and patients in the United States.

American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD)
AATOD supports methadone maintenance as a valuable treatment for opiate dependence and seeks to increase the availability of high-quality, comprehensive treatment services to people in need of care throughout the United States.

Central Committee for the Treatment of Heroin Addicts
The organization provides contains comprehensive information on heroin maintenance research.

Conference on Substitution Treatment in V4 Countries and EU Experience
Held in Bratislava, Slovakia, in April 2003, the conference was sponsored by IHRD, the Open Society Fund–Bratislava and the East East Program—all part of the Soros foundations network. The conference website includes documents, presentations and other information analyzing the development of drug subsitution therapies in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
