Service Delivery and Advocacy

Grantee List

SHARP aims to increase service delivery and advocacy efforts by allied health and social justice communities (e.g., reproductive health; women’s movement; HIV/AIDS treatment and care; harm reduction; gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT); human rights) targeting the sexual health and rights of socially marginalized populations by 2007.

Anticipated Outcomes

  • Sexual health and rights needs of socially marginalized populations related to HIV/AIDS are integrated into the scope of work of allied communities that have not previously addressed these issues.
  • More holistic and cross-cutting services addressing the sexual health and rights needs of socially marginalized populations related to HIV/AIDS are developed and implemented across allied communities and “silos” (i.e., groups typically focused on one issue or within one arena, not holistically).
  • Advocacy activities around sexual health and rights among socially marginalized populations related to HIV/AIDS are developed and enacted across allied communities and silos.
  • New funds are leveraged by allied communities to address sexual health and rights needs among socially marginalized populations related to HIV/AIDS.

Overall Impact

Allied health and social justice communities take on sexual health and rights issues within socially marginalized populations related to HIV/AIDS, both individually and across their traditional silos, resulting in improved services and a more welcoming policy environment.
