A grant to enable Stella to facilitate the participation of sex workers and to ensure maximum visibility of the concerns of international sex workers and sex worker organizations at the 2006 International AIDS Conference in Toronto. Activities included: disseminating conference content and activities specifically related to sex work to assist in the orientation of sex workers and their allies in the conference; disseminating information regarding specific concerns for sex workers and their organizations in relation to the fight against HIV/AIDS; educating conference participants and the general public about sex worker organizations’ and allies’ efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS; supporting networking and capacity building between sex workers and allies participating in the conference; providing access to the conference content in French for the Francophone sex workers participating in the conference (Quebecois, Canadians, Africans and others); providing daily on-line bilingual information about the conference, related sex work activities, content and news via Stella’s website; providing support for panel sessions related to sex work issues; and ensuring the visibility of sex workers concerns in relation to HIV/AIDS to the media, leaders, policy makers, the public and other conference participants.
