2006 A grant to strengthen and expand the Sex Workers' Rights Advocacy Network (SWAN); providing further training for NFPs on human rights for sex workers, media and advocacy issues; influencing public discourse in the countries where the debate about decriminalization of prostitution is ongoing and initiating such debate in other countries in the region; broadening the base of support among allied communities and establishing national networks in 3-4 more countries; reducing police harassment and violence against sex workers through advocacy; expanding the participation of sex workers in the Network’s advocacy efforts; and organizing the Network’s first common advocacy efforts on the network level.
